Celtics Top Ten: Songs for 'Reunion Week'

BUY DAVE'S HAT!  $6.52 on Amazon.

With the Celtics set to square off against the Nets in Brooklyn tonight and the Clippers back at the Garden tomorrow, the much-hyped "Reunion Week" portion of our schedule is upon us.

Since music can help steady us through some of life's emotional turbulence – and since the next 48 hours are sure to be emotion-filled for Celtics fans everywhere – today's edition of Celtics Top Ten is: "The Top 10 Songs for 'Reunion Week.'"

Number 10...
"Day After Day" by Badfinger

Because before the Beatles' protégés were revived for Walter White's demise on Breaking Bad, they were revived in an unforgettable commercial spot that captured Celtic Nation's pure joy at the arrival of Kevin Maurice Garnett.

Number 9...
"Heart of a Champion" by Nelly

Because the old school "Roundball Rock" sample and overall vibe will mentally prepare you to push the sadness away and embrace one of the ever-dwindling opportunities to watch KG in action (albeit in the Olajuwon-in-Toronto phase of his career).

Number 8...
"Time" by Hootie and the Blowfish

Because TIME.

Number 7...
"Irreplaceable" by Beyoncé Knowles

Because I'm looking at you, Doc – and now I'm looking at my man Brad!!!!! #BURN

Number 6...
"I Ain't Mad at Cha" by 2Pac

Because despite your disappointing departure, Doc, I'm not.  (Yes, I stole this from Bill Simmons, and yes, I'll add the obligatory plea for anyone with tickets tomorrow: Please give Doc the ovation he deserves.)

Number 5...
"California Love" by 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre

Because we're sticking with Mr. Shakur and it broke my heart Sunday to read that Nets sources "intimate that [Paul] Pierce has lost his passion."  What?!?  Listen to this anthem and get ready for the game (whether it's tonight or another) when Paul returns again with that familiar chip on his shoulder and unmistakable Inglewood(alwaysuptonogood) swagger.

Number 4...
"I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston

Because it's the perfect ballad by which to re-visit Paul's "#ThankYouBoston" binge on Instagram and have a good, cathartic cry.  </3

Number 3...
"I Love You Always Forever" by Donna Lewis

Because right back at you, Paul.  <3

Number 2...
"Jet" by Paul McCartney and Wings

Because don't you dare forget or get snarky about Jason Terry – he TATTOOED LUCKY ON HIS BICEP.  #NeverForget

And the Number 1 Song for 'Reunion Week' is...
"So Far Away" by Carole King

Because EMOTIONS.
