One week ago tonight, Hawks swingman Kyle Korver hit a 3-pointer for the 90th game in a row, setting a new league record.  In response, NBA TV's The Starters aired a slow-motion highlight reel of the previous record holder, complete with somber musical accompaniment.

"This will be the last we ever hear the name of Dana Barros," host J.E. Skeets declared in introducing the clip.

And after: "Goodbye, sweet prince."

WELL, J.E., here at MercerJersey.com, I'm not ready to say goodbye to Mr. Barros – and I bet I'm not alone, especially among Celtics fans.  And so, today's edition of Celtics Top Ten is: "The Top 10 Reasons We'll Still and Always Talk about Dana Bruce Barros."

Number 10...
The quintessential Boston-loving Bostonian, Dana was raised in Mattapan; starred in high school at Xavarian; donned the Maroon & Gold at B.C.; and, upon reaching free agency in '95, promptly signed with (who else?) the Boston Celtics (for whom he currently works in media relations).

Number 9...
The Dana Barros Pro Free Throw Trainer remains the game's greatest invention since the shot clock.

Number 8...
That time in '95 when he put up 50 against the eventual-champion Rockets?!  #RESPECT

Number 7...
His All-Star berth that same year, alongside the likes of Pippen, Shaq, Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing.

Number 6...
If you could own the complete jersey collection of one NBA player, you would definitely pick Dana Barros.

Number 5...
That time he rapped verse two on Cedric Ceballos's B-Ball's Best Kept Secret track and TOTALLY showed him up.

Number 4...
Oh yeah!  How about Dana's own track from that album, the actually-not-embarrassing (I'm looking at you, Dennis Scott) standout cut "Check It," for which a pretty cool music video was produced – complete with "a mad mad shoutout" to Reggie Lewis at the end.  #RIP

Number 3...
Did you forget that Dana was one of only 14 team captains in Celtics history (in '99-'00, alongside Antoine Walker)?

Number 2...
His bink-of-an-eye cameo (at 16 seconds) in this legendarily creepy-but-heartwarming Reebok ad from '08.

And the Number 1 Reason We'll Still and Always Talk about Dana Bruce Barros...
This vintage Tommy Heinsohn call, which all Celtics die-hards remember fondly.
